Nunnbetter Dance Theatre
Nunnbetter Dance Theatre classes cater to students starting at age 3. Our curriculum and programming is designed for the beginner through pre-professional dancers and every level in between. With four beautiful studios, each with a parent observation window, dancers learn in a professional, clean and safe atmosphere. Our in-studio theater is equipped with a full lighting and sound system and comfortably seats just over 100 audience members. NDT also boasts a full costume shop complete with a beautiful and eclectic collection of professional quality costumes.
Nunnbetter Dance Theatre is proud of our dedication to ballet and a strict ballet curriculum. NDT boasts an impressive list of alumni, including dancers who are now members of the Ballet Tucson, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, The Washington Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, and Tulsa Ballet, NWA Ballet Theatre, to name just a few. Our students have also studied and been awarded scholarships at many prestigious institutions around the country to include New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Alvin Ailey, Pennsylvania Ballet, North Carolina School of the Arts, Nutmeg Conservatory, Kaatsbaan Ballet Intensive and the Bolshoi Ballet in NYC.
In addition to being known for excellence in ballet, Nunnbetter Dance Theatre also provides the highest level of professional dance training in many other dance disciplines including Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, and Theater Dance. Current and former students have been seen on Broadway in NYC in the musicals Once, Matilda, The Lion King, The King and I, School of Rock, and in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.
The dance foundation our students receive at Nunnbetter Dance Theatre helps to create a solid dance foundation for these budding artists. Perhaps just as valuable as the quality training NDT provides is the camaraderie, the sense of family, and the self-confidence that NDT instills in each student as they pass through their years at the studio.
While NDT is not a “competition” school, we do believe in offering students exceptional training and many professional performance opportunities throughout each year. We believe in encouraging our students to be the best dancer, the best student, and the best person they can be.
Annual Nutcracker
Each December, the NDT Company produces what is hailed to be one of New Jersey’s best productions of The Nutcracker. This NDT production combines both professional dancers and local budding stars in a beautifully staged adaptation of this timeless classic.
Performance Opportunities
In early winter a selected group of members of the NDT Company participate in the prestigious Youth America Grand Prix dance competition. Each year our dancers receive honors and accolades for both ensemble and solo pieces.
Annual Spring Concert
Each spring, members of the NDT Company come together in a vibrant Spring Concert production. The Spring Concert is performed in our in-studio theater and features classic repertoire as well as new works from some of NDT’s finest teachers and choreographers as well as outside artists.
