2024-2025 Company Information 

NDT’s Pre-Professional Company Program is a year-long commitment to help select Nunnbetter Dance Theatre students take their training and performance opportunities to the next level. 

Dancers who audition to be in the NDT Pre-Professional Company Program make a commitment to the program for the entire year (September 2024-June 2025).  This commitment is not to be taken lightly and should be discussed by your family so all understand the requirements, the benefits, and the opportunities that being selected into a company brings.  

In addition, not all dancers who audition for the NDT Pre-Professional Company Program will be cast in the program. While this can be disappointing, we hope that all dancers will look at this as a growth experience and work toward making the company the following year. 

BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATION


NUTCRACKER
- Dancers who are part of the NDT Pre-Professional Company program, while not guaranteed a principal or soloist part in the Nutcracker, will be eligible for principal and soloist casting. 

YAGP
-Dancers participating in the NDT Pre-Professional Company program are eligible to participate in the YAGP solo classical competition.  If the dancer is also enrolled in either Modern and/or Contemporary class at NDT, they may also enter a Contemporary piece.( *)

- Dancers participating in the NDT Pre-Professional Company program are eligible to audition for the ensemble pieces that NDT will bring to the YAGP competition. 

(*) all dancers who want to compete in the Contemporary category at YAGP must be registered in either Contemporary and/or Modern

MASTER CLASSES
- Dancers participating in the NDT Pre-Professional Company program will be offered a minimum of 3 Master Classes throughout the year in our new Company Collective Master Class series.  These Master classes will feature a variety of professionals brought in especially to work with our NDT Company members. 

SPRING CONCERT
- Dancers participating in the NDT Pre-Professional Company program will participate in NDT’s Spring Concert in early May.  They will have performance opportunities with various solos, features and ensemble work that showcase their progress that has been achieved throughout the year.  

OTHER BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATION
- Exclusive pre- sale discount and early ticketing to the Nutcracker performances
- Early ticketing to the Spring Concert performance.
- Promotional and other community performance opportunities as they arise throughout
  the year.
- NDT Pre-Professional Company merchandise/apparel.
- Continued training through rehearsals which not only strengthen technique but also
  serves to increase showmanship, confidence, stamina and fortitude.  

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS


Dancers must be enrolled at the Ballet 6, Intermediate Ballet or Advanced Ballet program at NDT and audition for the Pre-Professional Company Program.

For each level, there are class requirements that must be met in order to be eligible to audition for the NDT Pre-Professional Company Program. 

Advanced students: 

  • A commitment to a full course load of 8  classes per week, to include:

  • A mandatory minimum of 5 Advanced ballet classes

  • One Stretch and Core class weekly. 

  • A seventh class: either an additional ballet/pointe class or Modern or Contemporary (*)

  • An eighth class, which can be any other style. 

Intermediate students: 

  • A commitment to a full course load of 6 classes per week, to include:

  • A mandatory minimum of 4 Intermediate Ballet classes, one of which  must be Int.  Pointe.

  • A fifth class: either an additional Ballet class or either Modern or Contemporary. 

  • A sixth class, which can be any other style, or Stretch and Core.

Ballet 6 students: 

  • A commitment to a full course load of 5 classes per week, to include: 

  • A mandatory minimum of 3 Ballet classes (which must include the Ballet 6 pointe class) 

  • A fourth class: either a 4th ballet class, or either modern or contemporary. 

  •  A fifth class, which can be any other style or Stretch and Core.

OTHER PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS FOR 
ALL DANCERS:

  1.  A strict adherence to the NDT Studio guidelines and class etiquette. 

  2. Consistent attendance to the above-mentioned classes and Company rehearsals.  Attendance to both classes and rehearsals will be closely monitored. Students missing classes or rehearsals consistently, or who are tardy will be asked to leave the Pre-Professional Company Program.

  3. Gracious acceptance of all casting decisions and 100% commitment and enthusiasm to Company performance opportunities. 

  4.  Commitment to support, attend, and participate in NDT Pre-Professional Company fundraising events and performances.

  5.  Proper attire, attitude and attention in class.

  6. The Pre-Professional Company annual fee for each dancer is $440 . This company fee is in addition to class tuition pricing.

  7. (*) The NDT Company Fee is NOT inclusive of the Nutcracker participation fees or YAGP Participation fees. Those are separate charges.

As a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization, the Nunnbetter Dance Theatre Company hosts fundraisers throughout the year to support the expenses affiliated with the company productions. All donations are tax exempt as allowed by law.
